CVC 4 - From Fish to Soil
This Training Unit is organised in form of macro training unit, including:
- An introduction (overview) about the Circular Value Chain from from fish to soil (Bioconversion by black soldier fly – Zootechnical sector) and how it has been developed within the project
- The schema of the different processes of the CVC4, exploited thanks to the EcoeFISHent project.
Being the CVC4, based on the “organic valorisation”, the common lessons related to the “Collection” and “Side-stream Treatment” are the same as CVC1, CVC2 and CVC3.
Each “blue box” is exploded in the different related processes of the value chain in order to outline the general process and the related product/chain of processes.
- A lesson of the Economic business plan of the Circular Value Chain from fish to soil (Bioconversion by black soldier fly – Zootechnical sector)
The “From Fish to Soil” Circular Value Chain demonstrates how fishery and fish-processing side-streams can be sustainably valorised through Black Soldier Fly bioconversion. Fish residues are converted into valuable products such as frass, insect oil and chitin, creating applications in agriculture, bioenergy and cosmetics. This circular value chain reduces waste generation while creating new economic opportunities and supporting the transition towards a more sustainable and resource-efficient bioeconomy.
