Every projects faces the environmental sustainability challenges in an innovative and sustainable way: use of clean energy, promoting well-being, sea as a resource and issues related to circular economy.

As EcoeFISHent partner, Ticass proposed the project to the call and it was selected together with 9 other innovative solutions for the protection of the sea and related to the blue economy.
In the EcoeFISHent expo stand some workshops will cover two of the main topics of the project:
From 27th to 29th June workshop: “Ghost Gears, recovery and new life“, with the participation of Proplast, PMPA Portofino and Ticass.
Three activities will be carried out:
1) From fishing nets to plastic components: a demonstration/dissemination experience to understand the various recycling steps and what can be done with recovered plastic materials, making citizens and fishermen aware of the importance of separate collection of all waste (including fishing nets).
2) Ghost gears, a problem to solve: a video by WWF Italy will explain how to achieve the sustainable development goals outlined in Agenda 2030 (Sustainable Development Goals).
3) The Ghosts of seabed: a demonstration/dissemination experience with the aim of illustrating the impact caused by lost or abandoned fishing gear on the seabed, especially with respect to the environments with high ecological value
From 30th June to 2nd July the laboratory “From sea to cosmetics, the role of fishing side-streams” in cooperation with the partners: UNIGE, Ardes, Angel Consulting and Ticass.
Two activities will take place in parallel:
1) The colours of emulsions: Laboratory activities with extraction of vegetable and animal co-products and creation of an emulsion (UNIGE).
