MARLICE – III International Forum on Marine Debris and Circular Economy

22 May - 24 May

Valencia, Spain – In a landmark initiative aimed at combating marine litter and promoting circular economy practices, the III International Forum on Marine Debris and Circular Economy is set to convene at the renowned Veles e Vent building in the bustling port of Valencia from May 22 to 24, 2024.

MARLICE, short for Marine Litter and Circular Economy, serves as a vital platform for global stakeholders dedicated to addressing the pressing issue of marine debris. Since its inception in 2019, MARLICE has evolved into a crucial nexus for knowledge exchange and solution-finding in the realm of marine conservation.

Organized by the Spanish Marine Litter Association (AEBAM), this event aims to foster an effective associative framework to mitigate the influx of waste into marine environments. With a three-day program featuring plenary sessions, roundtable discussions and dynamic workshops, the forum will facilitate dialogue among international experts on key themes – such as research & innovation, governance and conservation.

Moreover, MARLICE will host pivotal meetings in collaboration with the Regional Marine Conventions forum and technical working groups dedicated to marine litter management. These sessions will offer opportunities for information exchange, policy guidance and collaborative strategizing to combat marine pollution effectively.

MARLICE4PEOPLE, the concurrent public-facing component of the forum, will offer engaging exhibitions and workshops to raise awareness and empower individuals to contribute to marine conservation efforts.
