ARPAL is one of the EcoeFISHent partners more closely involved in the operational implementation of the project. As a matter of fact, its effort will be towards turning fish side-streams into value-added resources for cosmetics, nutraceuticals, agriculture, energy and packaging. Furthermore, ARPAL will be involved in the production of biobased products and final applications.
It was an opportunity to explain the project, its objectives and advantages for everyone to a wide audience.
On 21st april the report was on air on TV news Rai TgR Liguria in Italian language!
It has been a good chance to spread key themes of the project in the context of circular economy, and to interview staff members from Arpal and Ardes to investigate the reuse process of fish and fishing side streams, from which it will be possible to extract collagen and Omega 3 polyunsaturated fatty acids, that will be used to produce cosmetics and food supplements.
In particular, Arpal will conduct research analysis of contaminants before processing them into food or cosmetics, while Ardes will deal with the production of cosmetics derived from the fishing industry.
