EcoeFISHent in the LOOP Cluster

European regions play a key role in developing circular ecosystems and sustainable value chains. From this shared mission, the LOOP Cluster was born — a collaborative initiative uniting four sister projects: Agro2Circular, CIRCULAR FOAM, EcoeFISHent, and FRONTSH1P.

All four projects are funded under the Horizon 2020 GD3.2 call and aim to demonstrate systemic solutions for the territorial deployment of the circular economy across European regions, with a strong focus on scalability and replication.

LOOP is a bottom-up initiative built on shared values, close collaboration, and ongoing knowledge exchange. By working together, these projects strengthen their impact, accelerate innovation, and contribute to a more sustainable and circular Europe.

Through LOOP, EcoeFISHent actively supports a common European path toward greener, more resilient regional economies.

Agro2Circular promotes a circular economy by upcycling agrifood residues into cosmetics, nutraceuticals, food ingredients, and biodegradable packaging. Starting in Spain and expanding to Italy and Lithuania, it uses a digital platform for traceability and supports scalable, sustainable business models.

CIRCULAR FOAM focuses on making rigid polyurethane foams circular, especially in refrigeration and construction. It upcycles waste into high-quality raw materials, tested in three pilot regions, with the goal of scaling across Europe to reduce plastic waste and support climate neutrality.

EcoeFISHent promotes a climate-neutral circular economy through six interconnected value chains linking blue and green sectors. It transforms fish-processing by-products into supplements, cosmetics, biodegradable packaging, fertilizers, biodiesel, and chitin, while protecting marine ecosystems.

FRONTSH1P aims to drive the circular economy in Poland’s Łódzkie region by developing solutions in packaging, food, water, and plastics. With 35 partners from nine countries, it promotes regional circular clusters and scalable, cross-sector innovations across Europe.
