EcoeFISHent
Demonstrable and replicable cluster implementing systemic solutions through multilevel circular value chains for eco-efficient valorization of fishing and fish industries side streams.

EcoeFISHent demonstrates a replicable systemic and sustainable cluster for territorial deployment of the climate neutral circular economy by creating six multilevel and synergic circular value chains (CVC) interconnecting blue and green-economies to reconcile human industrial and economic activities with marine ecosystems and marine protected areas.
The project goal is to deploy sustainable and efficient use of fish-processing side streams by obtaining bio-actives and galantine for high value-added food supplements and skin care products, as well as biodegradable and compostable barrier layers for food packaging. Furthermore, other fishing industry side streams will be converted into soil fertilisers, oil for biodiesel and chitin for cosmetic applications.
The Six Circular
Value Chains (CVCs)
EcoeFISHent was designed with the aim of developing six interconnected, multilevel, synergic Circular Value Chains (CVCs). Fostering a climate-neutral and circular approach. Across the blue economy, industrial manufacturing, and agriculture domains. Interconnecting hydrosphere, geosphere and technosphere in a sustainable and circular way. To reconcile our economies and human activities with the planetary boundaries.
Within a symbiosis systemic approach, every CVC will create links inside a different industrial domain: food supplements, cosmetics, packaging, bio-conversion products, soil improvers, automotive, looking beyond fishing and aquaculture to reveal synergies with stakeholders interested and possessing capabilities to derive and/or provide value from fishing and fish industry side-streams (FFS) and co-products (FCP).

Bioeconomy Day. EcoeFISHent as case study
The #EcoeFISHent General Assembly has been very fruitful.
Thanks all participants in Herzliya and online!
We look forward to carrying on the cooperation with the same feeling and commitment.
A special thanks to our partners Gomeh and Cloud for the warm hospitality. @HorizonEurope
The second day of #EcoeFISHent General Assembly in Herzliya has just started!
Today partners will explain the technical work they are carrying on in the 8 Work Packages.

During #EcoeFISHent General Assembly, ICSS presented Eco-Fish-Box prototype.
This crate has been obtained from agro side-streams, made of Expanded Polylactic Acid, it's compostable and will replace Expanded Polystyrene fish boxes.
